Jeannie and Alex: 3.12.10

This has been one of my favorite couples and when the day came, it was a bittersweet moment for me!

I met with Jeannie and Alex back in June and I knew that this was going to be such a fun couple to work with! They wanted their wedding to be held in March. This meant the planning process that brides usually plan 12 months ahead, had to be done in a short 9 months! Through this process, I learned so much about this couple and I can honestly say they are one of the most loving couple I have come across in my life!

The bride and groom choose Plymouth Congregation and Rusty Pelican as their venues. Their bridal party, family members, and most of their 150+ guests traveled from Chicago and Latin America. Guests partied the night away till 1:00 am and were even surprised with an Hora Loca!

Below are some teasers of the amazing day captured by Natalie and Susan from Suna Photography!

The tables were decorated with kiwi linens, kiwi and chocolate napkins, mahogany chivary chairs, and white floral arrangements.

The family table was a focal point as it consisted of a one of a kind floral arrangement created by Gil Sosa. To add more emphasis to the massive display, we added pin spot lighting.

The cake, by Elegant Temptations, was another focal point in the room that was also pin spotted. It sat on top of an acrylic stand that was surrounded by small crystals submerged underwater, floating candles, LED lights, and elegant over sized crystals that were hanging from the base.

Michelle & Rodger: 11.07.09

On November 17th, Michelle and Rodger finally became husband and wife after 10 years of dating. Elaine, the mother of the bride, contacted me a month before the wedding to help coordinate her daughter's wedding. The first time I met Michelle and her mother, it was an instant connection! I was so excited to be a part of this wedding.

Michelle and Rodger held their ceremony at the beautiful Saint Francis De Sales located in Miami Beach. Next, the couple held a lavish reception at the beautiful Westin Colonnade in Coral Gables. I was super excited about this venue as it was my first time coordinating an event there. The photographer, Ivan Apfel, did an amazing job. To prove it, below are some pictures provided exclusively for One of a Kind Events. Enjoy!

Finally! The New Mr. & Mrs. Tomas!

Photobucket

The Westin Colonnade is known for its beautiful receptions in the hotel's rotunda area but instead, they opted for a private reception in the Merrick ballroom .To compliment the room's décor, Michelle and Rodger decided to use brown, gold, and ivory as their colors. To enhance the décor of the ballroom, amber up lights were used throughout the entire room.

Photobucket

Each table was decorated with brown satin linens, ivory napkins, gold chargers, and gold chivary chairs. The beautiful floral centerpieces were provided by our good friend, Helen, from Ever After Floral Designs. The centerpieces consisted of white jumbo hydrangeas, white spray roses, and hanging crystals.

Photobucket
Each ivory satin napkin was personalized with a brown satin ribbon and a small crystal brooch.
Photobucket
As favors, guests received maple leaf wine toppers. I absolutely love these!
Photobucket
The cake, by Ana Paz, consisted of an intricate design and the couple's crystal encrusted initials cascading down the side. This was absolutely beautiful and a focal point in the room!

Photobucket
To Michelle and Rodger: Congratulations and thank you for allowing me to be a part of your special day!

To the Vendors (Gables Linens, JC Bash Productions, Ana Paz, Helen, Ivan, and Laura): As always, this could not have been done without you. Great job!

One of a Kind Events is Partnering with Alaun by Design

Photobucket

I have recently been selected by Alaun by Design to become a local representative for them in the South Florida area. For those of you who are not familiar with this company, they are a creative invitation company that is based out of Nebraska but have been servicing brides nationwide through their popular website (www.alaunbydesign.com). To make it easier on their out-of-state clients, they have put together a book with different card stocks, invitation samples, embellishments, fonts and ribbon options.

The book is designed to better assist the client in choosing and creating a one of a kind invitation as opposed to choosing a generic one. Aside from invitations Alaun by Design also specializes in custom menus, escort cards, save the dates, labels and much more.

Karina and Rocky's Wedding: 9.26.09

Karina and I met for the first time last year in November while her soon to be husband, Rocky, was away serving our country in the Navy. Karina new exactly what she wanted and pretty much had everything selected during the early stages of the planning process.

Karina and Rocky had their ceremony at the beautiful Church of the Little Flower in Coral Gables followed by a beautiful reception at The Biscayne Marriott. Most of their friends and family members traveled from different parts of the US to witness them declare their love for one another.

Alex, from Candidly Elegant , captured the entire day. Below you can see a sneak peek of Karina and Rocky's wedding details.

The fondant cake, by Devine Delicacies, was adorned with sugar orchids cascading down the four tiers.

And finally...the new Mr. and Mrs. Rao having their first dance.

Karina and Rocky: You guys are awesome! I am so happy that everything turned out just as planned. Always remember that you have a new friend in Miami!

To the vendors: It couldnt have gone any better! Ubi, You really know how to keep the dance floor busy! Gil, I can't wait to work with you in March. Your arangements are definetly a work of art.
