Michelle & Rodger: 11.07.09

On November 17th, Michelle and Rodger finally became husband and wife after 10 years of dating. Elaine, the mother of the bride, contacted me a month before the wedding to help coordinate her daughter's wedding. The first time I met Michelle and her mother, it was an instant connection! I was so excited to be a part of this wedding.

Michelle and Rodger held their ceremony at the beautiful Saint Francis De Sales located in Miami Beach. Next, the couple held a lavish reception at the beautiful Westin Colonnade in Coral Gables. I was super excited about this venue as it was my first time coordinating an event there. The photographer, Ivan Apfel, did an amazing job. To prove it, below are some pictures provided exclusively for One of a Kind Events. Enjoy!

Finally! The New Mr. & Mrs. Tomas!

Photobucket

The Westin Colonnade is known for its beautiful receptions in the hotel's rotunda area but instead, they opted for a private reception in the Merrick ballroom .To compliment the room's décor, Michelle and Rodger decided to use brown, gold, and ivory as their colors. To enhance the décor of the ballroom, amber up lights were used throughout the entire room.

Photobucket

Each table was decorated with brown satin linens, ivory napkins, gold chargers, and gold chivary chairs. The beautiful floral centerpieces were provided by our good friend, Helen, from Ever After Floral Designs. The centerpieces consisted of white jumbo hydrangeas, white spray roses, and hanging crystals.

Photobucket
Each ivory satin napkin was personalized with a brown satin ribbon and a small crystal brooch.
Photobucket
As favors, guests received maple leaf wine toppers. I absolutely love these!
Photobucket
The cake, by Ana Paz, consisted of an intricate design and the couple's crystal encrusted initials cascading down the side. This was absolutely beautiful and a focal point in the room!

Photobucket
To Michelle and Rodger: Congratulations and thank you for allowing me to be a part of your special day!

To the Vendors (Gables Linens, JC Bash Productions, Ana Paz, Helen, Ivan, and Laura): As always, this could not have been done without you. Great job!

Karina and Rocky's Wedding: 9.26.09

Karina and I met for the first time last year in November while her soon to be husband, Rocky, was away serving our country in the Navy. Karina new exactly what she wanted and pretty much had everything selected during the early stages of the planning process.

Karina and Rocky had their ceremony at the beautiful Church of the Little Flower in Coral Gables followed by a beautiful reception at The Biscayne Marriott. Most of their friends and family members traveled from different parts of the US to witness them declare their love for one another.

Alex, from Candidly Elegant , captured the entire day. Below you can see a sneak peek of Karina and Rocky's wedding details.

Guest were given wine toppers that had a little personalized message from the newlyweds themselves.

Photobucket

The fondant cake, by Devine Delicacies, was adorned with sugar orchids cascading down the four tiers.

And finally...the new Mr. and Mrs. Rao having their first dance.

Karina and Rocky: You guys are awesome! I am so happy that everything turned out just as planned. Always remember that you have a new friend in Miami!

Alex and Katie's Wedding: 07/03/09

On July 3rd Alex and Katie tied the knot at Rusty Pelican overlooking the Miami Skyline. With the help of the groom's mother, Carla, the day turned out to be flawless. I have to say that Carla was on top of everything and I was so impressed with how organized she was!

The bride's family flew all the way from Indiana to be by her side. Her father was in tears the entire time and it was so emotional seeing him light up when he saw his daughter for the first time in her wedding dress.

Below are some pictures of Alex and Katie's wedding day that were captured by Party Time DJ'S.

Alex and Katie attached to their wedding favors escort cards. Each couple received two frosted coasters with the couple’s picture.

The tables were dressed in white linens with ivory overlays, gold chargers, and low floral arrangements designed by Hirni's Wayside Garden. The room was lit in a romantic amber up lighting that at night enhanced the amazing view.

Photobucket

The cake was definitely a focal point in the room. It sat under a custom draped huppa that was lit with candles and amber up lighting.

Photobucket

My favorite part...the Venetian table! I wanted to eat the entire table that consisted of imported European chocolates, miniature fruit candy, alfajores, jelly beans and much more!

Photobucket

The first dance was the best part of the entire night! In honor of the Groom's Argentinean background, Alex and Katie surprised their guests to a choreographed tango by Richard Muniz.

Katie and Alex: Thanks so much for allowing me to coordinate your wedding day. It was a pleasure working with both of you and Carla. Enjoy the many laughs together and always cherish one another.

To my team: Thanks for all your help. I couldn't have done this without you. Diana, you have been such a great person to work with. I look forward to our many events together!

Heydi & Johnathan: 3/28/09

Let me start off by saying what a great couple! Heydi and Jonathan were super down to earth and really enjoyed every second of their special day. Their ceremony took place at the beautiful church of Our Lady of Lebanon. For those of you who haven’t been there, this church is gorgeous! It was my first time and it truly took my breath away. After the ceremony, Heydi and Jonathan treated their guests to a reception at the Big 5 Club. As usual, I have posted below some beautiful pictures taken by my friend, and amazing photographer, Alina M. Enjoy!

The couple choose orange, fuchsia, and brown accents as their wedding colors. The room's pale walls were washed in a romantic pink lighting that set the mood for the entire night. As favors, Heydi and Jonathan treated their guests to miniature cakes by Lucila and Flor De Cana Rum.

Photobucket

They incorporated their engagement photos by using them as their table names. Heydi opted to name her tables based on different emotions. Just incase your wondering, Alina M created these table cards!

Photobucket

Photobucket

The couple's table was a focal point. My good friends, Ana and Lester, from Dreams and Designs draped the entire back wall with brown and orange fabric and accented the custom draping with lighting.

Photobucket

Heydi and Jonathan topped it off by treating their guests to an orange, fuchsia, and brown candy station. This was so yummy and a total hit! They had giant orange lollipops, orange peeps, pink m&m's and my favorite...Micha's cupcakes!

Photobucket

At the end of the night, Heydi and Jonathan were happy and so were their friends and families. The day truly turned out to be a beautiful celebration of two individuals that fell in L.O.V.E!

Heydi and Jonathan: Thanks for letting me be a part of your wedding day. You guys were so easy to work with! I am so happy that the day was filled with happiness and enjoyed by both of you!

To the Vendors: Thank you...Thank you... Thank you!!!! Ana, Lester, Alina and the staff at A Touch of Class, we did it... again! You guys are awesome!

Sofia & Doug's Wedding 05.02.09

Sofia and Doug's wedding was definitely one of a kind. I met Sofia, a Washington DC attorney, while she was in the early stages of planning her dream, destination wedding in Miami. From the moment I met Sofia until the day before the wedding, we exchanged numerous emails on a weekly basis.

For their wedding, this couple went above and beyond! Sofia had previously visited Vizcaya and fell in love with its rich history and breathtaking scenery. She knew from that moment she wanted Vizcaya as her wedding venue. The bride new exactly what she wanted and took every single little detail into account. After a year of planning, the day was finally here! I could not believe how fast a year had come and gone. Sofia was so nervous yet so excited to be marrying Doug. This magical day was captured by none other than the talented Ricardo from Lux Images. Below are some pictures of their spectacular wedding day.

Photobucket

Meet Sofia and Doug!

Photobucket

The Ceremony took place on the Casino Mound. It was a small, intimate ceremony with 80 of the couples closest friends and family members.

Photobucket
After the ceremony, guests were treated to cocktails inside the mansion's courtyard. As a focal point, Sofia chose to have a beautiful floral arrangement in the middle of the escort card table that was created by Eva from Green-O-Spot.

Photobucket
For their guest sign in table, Sofia and Doug created a collage of family portraits with their engagement picture in the middle as a symbol of two families uniting.

Photobucket

The Cake, by Might Fine Cakes, looked like it was an antique piece that belonged to the mansion's property. It was half chocolate and half Vanilla with beautiful gold accents.

PhotobucketPhotobucket

Photobucket
After cocktails, guests were treated to a reception on the Property's East Terrace over looking the water. Sofia was inspired by Vizcaya's antique decor and neutral colors. Food was provided by Bill Hansen and entertainment was provided by Randy and Natasha's Band.

Photobucket
After dinner, Sofia and Doug shared a romantic first dance that followed with their guests dancing all night.

Photobucket
Sofia and Doug: Congrats! I wish you guys many years of happiness and laughter together. Please keep in touch! Sofia, I will miss our many emails. Good Luck in all you both do.

To the Vendors: Thank you all for making Sofia's vision come true. To Ana & Lester from Dream and Designs, you guys are awesome! Thanks for all your help!

To Diana, My intern: We did it!!! Thanks so much for all your help! You really did a great job! I am glad to have you as part of the team. I look forward to working many events with you.

Spring has Sprung: Tahra and Raymond's Wedding 3.20.09

First off, I want to apologize for not keeping up wth my blog. I have been super busy but have a few events to share with you all in the upcoming weeks.

Tahra and Raymond were the winners of my Holiday Giveaway contest. Their journey together has been incredible and their love for one another is one I know will last forever. From their romantic engagement to their amazing Spring wedding, Tahra and Raymond truly enjoyed every minute of their wedding day. Tahra and Raymond exchanged vows at Holy Comforter Episcopal Church followed by a beautiful reception at The Double Tree Grand on Key Biscayne. The themed could be summed up with two words, SPARKLES and butterflies! Tahra had sparkles and butterfiles on the linens, the cake, flowers, her beautiful dress, and table accents.

Below are a few pictures provided by Elegant Imagery who did an outstanding job capturing this memorable day.
