The Best Kept Secret: Michael's Surprise Party 1.17.09

Back in November Isis, Michael's wife, contacted me to help her create a memorable surprise party for her husband's 50th Birthday. Isis was very excited and had been looking forward to planning this party for a while. When I met her, she told me 2 things: It had to be a Rock and Roll themed party and it had to include Michael's favorite rock star, Bruce Springsteen. So I brainstormed for a couple of days, met with her, and presented her with my ideas. Thankfully she agreed with my vision. Since we did not have much time considering the fact that the holidays were around the corner, she was leaving on a trip to New York, and she couldn't talk to me when her husband was around (they work together), I am happy to say that we managed to pull it off!

Below are some pictures of Michael’s Birthday that were shot by none other than Alina M from Alina M Photography.

The Color scheme was Black and White with Blue Accents. We created an inviting environment using lounge furniture and cocktail tables.

Guests were treated to CD's consisting of some of Michael's favorite Bruce Springsteen's songs. The album cover, as well as the sign in poster, featured a replica of an old Bruce Springsteen Greatest Hits CD cover.

Guests were also treated to Michael's favorite tequila, Patron. The luge also reflected the theme and was Michael's favorite spot of the night.

The cake, which was a replica of one of Bruce Springsteen’s guitars, was done by Rosie from Elegant Temptations. She even replicated a 1985 Springsteen concert ticket Michael had stored in his safe.

Michael, Isis, and their guests, partied the night away to music provided by Infinity Sound Productions and Pangea, a live band.

Isis: WE DID IT!!!! I had an amazing time planning this party but most importantly I am glad I have made a new friend. I can't wait to begin planning Karina's 15's. Remember I am always here if you ever need anything. Have fun in Europe and enjoy your much needed vacation.

To the team of vendors: Great Job! Anna, it was great working with you and I hope this will be the first of many events at the Intercontinental. Dorian, the band was amazing and was exactly what we were looking for. Frank, Awesome job! I heard you outdid yourself at the after party...l0l
