Wedding Location: Fort LauderdaleWedding
Wedding Date: TBD (2009 - early 2010)
I would love to win an engagement session this holiday season! To tell our story would take quite awhile as we have been together for 7 years! I think it will be best to tell you how we fell in love and how he proposed.
Mike and I met when we both worked at the same restaurant, we were both in other relationships, so we were pretty much work buddies. When we both became single we started hanging out more and quickly became a couple. Our first Valentines day together was approaching and I knew he had a surprise in store for me. After asking my Mother's permission( I lived at home) to keep me overnight (how cute!) he whisked me off in a rented convertible where I was given roses and chocolates. A short drive later we wound up in Islamorada - I thought the getaway itself was the surprise but no - there was more. Mike blindfolded me and we drove awhile until we ended up at the DOLPHIN COVE...to swim with the dolphins!! Mike had only heard me mention once how badly I wanted to go and set the whole thing up for me. This is the trip where I knew I would love him forever. I have always regarded this as "our best date ever". He has tried over the years to outdo this date but really, who can compete with a dolphin?
Because we have been together so long we decided to do a light Christmas exchange this year and opted to take a trip to our beloved Islamorada for a little R&R instead of giving gifts to each other. While down there Mike mentioned going to see a mutual friend who had become a trainer at Theater of the Seas. I was thrilled! We wake up bright and early Saturday morning and arrive just in time to catch the dolphin show. At the end of the dolphin show Mike and I get picked to go on stage and give the dolphin a kiss (I almost peed my pants with excitement!) Of course, I am the last to get my dolphin kiss and imagine my surprise when the dolphin pops up with no kiss but a giant ring around his nose...I take the ring off and open the attached bottle to find a note inside that reads "say yes!". At this point, I turn around to find Mike on one knee asking me to be his wife. I felt what can never be described at that moment. After it was said and done I discovered there was a professional photographer nearby who captured every moment for us ( Mike really thought out the details!)
I would love to win this engagement session to honor the man I want to marry. This man who takes time to make the most magical proposal, thinks to capture all the memories and truly personifies gentleman qualities. From every door he's ever held to his everyday thoughtfulness to the people around him. I am truly a lucky bride.
